Carnvial of the Tarot – Fifteenth Edition

  • November 18, 2007 5:30 pm

Welcome to the Fifteenth Carnival of the Tarot.

We have some terrific writing to share this week, so let’s get started right away.

Lynda at Archertarot’s Weblog has written a lovely post about the Brigid of Ireland card in Reasons Why I Love the Haindl, Part I.

Tarot Dame shares a story of her adventures tracking down on out of print deck in Tarot of the Magical Forest – A Synchronous Event.

94 Stranger at Rainring Blog has published parts I and II of the Fourth Masterclass for the Rainring Cards.

Because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, the The Carnival of the Tarot will be going on hiatus for the rest of the year through Twelfth Night. I plan to resume it on January 13th. Many of us become quite busy this time of year, and will be spending time with family and friends, and observing the Holidays with our own traditions and celebrations.

Thank you all for your support and contributions. I look forward to resuming the Carnival again next year.

Burned Out

  • November 13, 2007 4:22 pm

Fey Tarot - SunThe Sun is a nice card to see in a Tarot spread. It usually means ‘protected’, ‘vital’ and ‘blessed’. But it can also mean ‘burned out’.

Too much of a good thing, is still too much. Sometimes you get to a point where you have to walk away from something to refresh your perspective. Sometimes you just need to take a break.

I’m not writing that I’m taking a break, I think I’ve already taken one. I haven’t been very active here at all. I’m not sure if I’m finished taking a break yet. But I felt like writing something today, and I consider that an improvement. I also feel like getting my cards out this afternoon. I have a couple of questions for them.

But first I’m going for a walk. It’s a nice day out, and I want to enjoy it before the colder weather really sets in around here.

Welcome to the Fourteenth Edition of the Carnival of the Tarot. I hope everyone has had a good week, and is enjoying the weekend.

Before we begin, I just want to take a moment thank everyone who has supported and contributed to the Tarot of the Carnival, and kept it going for these past few months.

Now on to the Carnival.

On Rainring Blog, 94Stranger has posted Class Three in the Rainring Master Class Series

Arcana XV presents Beginner’s decks? Umm.. yeah, whatever posted at ARCANA XV.

Kapherus at The Art of Cartomancy offers The Four Aces – Lottery Win?, detailing a Four Aces spread which can be good layout to use when you do not have a specific question for the cards.

Thank you for joining us this week.

Help take the Carnival of the Tarot ‘on the road’. If you are interested in hosting a future Carnival on your own blog, let me know what Sunday you would like to do so. If you have any questions about hosting the Carnival yourself, please ask. It is a good way to drive traffic to your site, and to share your work with other people.

Oracle of the Grail Code – Contest Giveaway

  • November 5, 2007 2:40 pm

oracle-of-the-grail-codeI would like to find a new home for my copy of the Oracle of the Grail Code.

This deck was created by Amy Sophia Marashinsky, and consists of a deck of 33 cards that are meant to correspond to 33 qualities and principles of the Divine feminine. The images are reproductions of classic paintings. The cards are packaged in a cigar-style box along with a 176-page hardcover book. You can see all of the cards here.

I bought this deck at Barnes and Noble a while ago. It’s a really lovely deck and book, but I just cannot connect with it for readings. So I would like it to go to someone who would enjoy having it. It is in brand new condition, almost as if you’d just removed the wrapper yourself.

The rules are the same as my previous giveaway. If you’d like to enter, leave a comment on this post with your choice of one of the seventy-eight cards from a standard Tarot deck. On the morning of November 13th I’ll shuffle, cut and draw one card from one of my Radiant Rider-Waite Tarot deck.

Only one card per person, please. Just leave a comment below this post with your choice of Tarot card. If your comment does not appear right away, don’t worry. It may be caught in my spam filter, which I check a few times each day. There is no need to leave a duplicate comment.

I will announce the winner on Tuesday the 13th of November. Good luck!

Carnvial of the Tarot – Thirteenth Edition

  • November 4, 2007 8:13 pm

Welcome to the Thirteenth Edition of the Carnival of the Tarot.

I have been experiencing very low energy this past week. I spent the week recharging my batteries. I have been taking time out for reflection on changes, both in the wide world outside and in my own life. It felt good to spend some time away from my computer. However it is now time for the Carnival. Let’s begin.

Kapherus from The Art of Cartomancy offers bit more in-depth look at some of the symbolism of the playing card court cards in Basic Cartomancy Part 3 – The Court Cards As People

From 94Stranger at Rainring Blog, we have the Second Masterclass in using the Rainring Cards. Also please note that there is Class One has been undergone a revision.

As I wrote nothing for my blog this week, I have no post for this Carnival. But I will be announcing another contest tomorrow. This time the prize is not a brand new item, but is an oracle deck from my personal collection that is in brand new condition, and needs to find a new home. It may be right for you, or may be a nice gift for someone you know. I hope you will stop by tomorrow and see.

That’s it for this week’s Carnival.
